In Mission to the Community... (see below for pictures from the Mission Luncheon held September 17)

Listed below are the community mission focus agengies for this year. There are many opportunties for every person to become involved in mission outreach through one of these agencies. Please prayerfully consider what service God is calling you to do.

Each month a we focus on a different agency...the donation table is in the Fellowship Hall or donations may be left in the Mission Room located beside the kitchen in the Fellowship Hall.

  • Children's Shelter
    PO Box 2663, Spartanburg, SC  29304
    The mission of the Spartanburg Children Shelter is to provide temporary refuge for children of Spartanburg and surrounding counties who, as a result of abuse, neglect, or abandonment can non longer live in their normal family environment
    • Needs - Monetary donations for operations, Food, Personal Care Products, Paper Products, Cleaning Products

  • Adult Learning Center
    145 N. Church Street, #82, Spartanburg, SC  29306
    The mission of the Adult Learning Center is to provide education opportunities through GED, English for Speakers of Other Languages and Basic Literacy classes free of charge to any 17 and older adult
    • Needs - Volunteers, paper, pencils, filing cabinet, cassette tape player, lobby furniture and office supplies.

  • Mobile Meals of Spartanburg
    PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC  29304
    The mission of Mobile Meals is to glorify God by providing nutritious meals, services and fellowship for our frail and homebound neighbors. Currently serving nearly 2,000 each day with no government money
    • Needs - Greatest need is faithful help in meeting the cost of purchasing food. In 2005 it will take $1,265,746 just to purchase the food needed to supply meals ot the homebound of this area

  • St. Luke's Free Clinic

    The mission of St. Luke's Free Clinic is to provide free medical care, medication, patient education, preventative education and care and pastoral support to eligible people in need regardless of race, color, or creed.
    • Needs - Cash donations. Volunteers for general clerical duties, data enry and secretarial, reception, grounds maintenance, janitorial, special events, and the provision of meals for evening visitors.

  • Second Presbyterian Church Soup Kitchen
    438 N. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC  29302

    The mission of Second Presbyterial Soup Kitchen is to seek to serve the poor and homeless of our community by sharing the love of God and giving them: food for their bodies, kindness for their souls, and hope for the future.
    • Needs - Paper products, sugar, salt and pepper, canned fruit and other non-perishable foods, aluminum foil, paper napkins. Nazareth volunteers needed every 4th Saturday
    • Nazareth Contact - Chuck Holmes
  • Threads of Love
    Nazareth Presbyterian Church volunteers provide handmade gowns, blankets, and chrocheted caps for premature infants at Spartanburg Regional Hospital.
    • Needs - Donations of soft knit material, thread, yarn or money to purchase these supplies.
    • Nazareth Contact - Molly Duerksen
  • Tyger River Food Pantry and Coat Closet
    5961 Reidville Road, Moore, SC  29369
    The mission of Tyger River Presbyterial Church Food Pantry and Coat Closet is to go out into the community, the nation, and the world to show God's love by sharing and caring.
    • Needs - Laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, sugar, juice boxes, powdered drinks, main meal non-perishable food items, toothpaste and toothbrushes, soap, shampoo,. Also coats in all sizes, children and adults, clean and in good repair
    • Nazareth Contact - Circle 1
